The filament has been tested in accordance with the EN 71-3 standard — the European toy safety regulation confirming that the material does not release excessive amounts of heavy metals or other harmful substances. This makes PLA Silk an excellent choice for educational models and toy components used by children both at school and at home. Printing faster and at a lower temperature will give you a satin-like effect (similar to silk shine or even brushed steel). On the other hand, higher temperatures and slower outer wall printing create a stronger light reflection, resulting in greater shine that resembles polished metal.

This is a ReFill-type spool insert. To use it, you’ll need a reusable Masterspool. You can print one yourself (the STL file is available in the “DOWNLOAD” section) or purchase it from our store. Print efficiently and sustainably.

To achieve the highest level of shine, use profiles dedicated to PLA Silk, reduce the outer wall printing speed, or increase the temperature. PLA Silk requires a slightly higher temperature than standard PLA.
