3D Filaments by ROSA3D now with TigerTag technology (NFC)

We are happy to announce that we are one of the first 3D filament manufacturers in Europe to introduce TigerTag technology - innovative tagging of our products with NFC/RFID tags. From now on, spools of ROSA3D Filaments will be equipped with smart tags that enable the 3D printer or smartphone to read key material data automatically.

What is TigerTag?

TigerTag tis an open system for digital identification of 3D printer filaments. Each NFC tag contains information about the material, such as:

• the manufacturer and full name of the filament,
• the type of material, properties, net weight, diameter, and color,
• SKU and EAN code,
• compatible profiles,
• nozzle and bed temperature ranges,
• material cooling system speed,
• drying conditions,
• transmission and Shore hardness,
• links to the filament’s documents and videos.

TigerTag allows for fast reading and writing of data within seconds. All you need to do is open the TigerTag app and tap your phone to the tag. The most important material properties are stored on the label in offline mode. This means that parameters such as material type, filament characteristics, net weight, nozzle and bed temperature ranges, drying conditions, transmission, and color can be read without internet access. In online mode, additional data becomes available, such as product photos, links to documents and videos, and compatible profiles for the material. These data are synchronized with the cloud to stay up to date. Have you run out of filament and don’t know what to do with the TigerTag label? TigerTag is an open-source project with an open API interface available on GitHub. This means full access to documentation, specifications, and templates, as well as easy integration and cloud synchronization. As part of the project, dedicated channels have been created on Discord and Reddit, where the community shares experiences and ideas for further development. The creators announce the latest features and provide support when needed.
