Galaxy series filaments – the beauty of glitter enchanted in the material

For years, objects printed with 3D printers were considered unattractive. The first devices lacked precision, repeatability, and predictability. The same applied to materials—early filaments struggled to maintain a consistent diameter, and the color palette was limited and uninspiring. Fortunately, those days are over! We’ve expanded our extensive range with materials infused with striking silver glitter—the GALAXY series. Depending on the application, we have developed this filament series using PLA— Filament 3D PLA Galaxy, and PET-G— Filament 3D PET-G Galaxy HS.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The Filament 3D PLA Galaxy is perfect for printing models intended for indoor display. Thanks to the addition of glitter, layer lines become nearly invisible, while the unique shimmer adds brilliance and intrigue to your prints.

How to print ROSA3D Filament 3D PLA Galaxy?

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ Although the material contains fine silver glitter particles, the nozzle temperature does not differ significantly from standard PLA filaments. The glitter used in Galaxy filaments is soft and fine enough not to wear down the nozzle, making it safe to use brass nozzles. For enhanced shine, we recommend printing at the higher end of the temperature range. If higher print speeds are required, the temperature can be increased up to 250°C. However, we do not recommend printing PLA in an enclosed chamber.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ For PRUSA printers, we have prepared dedicated print profiles for our materials. In PrusaSlicer, select ROSA3D PLA Starter for Filament 3D PLA Galaxy and print on a smooth PEI sheet for optimal results.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ For Bambu Lab printers, select the Generic PLA filament profile in Bambu Studio. If using the P1S, X1C, or X1E models, ensure proper ventilation and airflow during printing by at least partially opening the chamber door and top lid.

ROSA3D Filament 3D PET-G Galaxy HS

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ The ROSA3D Filament 3D PET-G Galaxy HS is perfect for applications where prints need to withstand harsher conditions, such as outdoor exposure, contact with detergents and chemicals, or mechanical processing like drilling. Compared to PLA Galaxy, prints made from this material are even more glossy, UV-resistant, and water-repellent.
